As most of you will be already aware there were two earthquakes on Wednesday in the Murcian town of Lorca, about 120km southwest of Alicante, one of 4.8 and the other 5.3 on the Richter Scale.

Much damage was caused and there were ten fatalities plus many injured.

Here on the Costa Blanca, the quakes were barely felt. We felt no tremors here but slight tremors were felt as close as Villamartin.

The event really should come as no surprise given that we are situated very close to the fault line that separates the European and African continents.

But worry not, all the buildings in our community are safe and sound
