This community is now showing it's age as regards the exterior look of properties and whilst most villas have been repainted I don't think any of the apartments have. The general weathering has taken it's toll but the main problem seems to be rain staining.

 

 

A number of owners have made comments that they will be repainting but if that happens on an individual basis, I think it may make the general appearance even worse. There is no doubt that a newly painted apartment, particularly if it is in the middle of a block, will make the adjoining properties look more drab then they already do.

 

 

I have spoken with presidents of other communities and several of them have a system whereby it has been agreed by the owners that professional decorators are appointed to repaint the entire block and the cost shared equally by the owners within that block. This obviously has the advantage that the 'new look' doesn't become piecemeal and it enhances the look of the entire community. Repainting also makes the property walls more waterproof, thereby stopping a lot if not all of the rain staining.

 

 

These repainting contracts can be arranged for every 3/4 years or so. Again anyone wishing to comment then write your thoughts in the forum section.
