Earlier in the year a car driven by a visitor hit and badly damaged one of the sliding security gates. Now this incident was reported and claimed for off the motor insurance but it brings the point home that if that hadn’t been the case then the community would have been left to pay.

Obviously visitors do not have the same vested interest in the community that we owners do, but the owner of a property is legally liable for any damage caused by the tenant or guests. Consequently we should all be vigilant toward any damage caused to community property, including the pool, if you see damage being done then report it, make the owner responsible rather than it be a shared responsibility.
